Our "Snow" dog....Kume

This was our Kume when he was a puppy. He was born in a litter under a trailer. Our Tribal Government Offices were located in that trailer on the Reservation. I was assistant to the Tribal Government Manager for the Viejas Indian Reservation-neither of us were tribal members. We believe Kume's father was a Malamute of one of the tribal members who lived on the Reservation. Kume was the only "fluffy" one in the entire litter. All his siblings had short hair. He has been one of two fantastic dogs we have been blessed to call ours. He is almost like a "caretaker" dog now for me and he is my husband's best "buddy". This climate is much better for Kume than the San Diego weather.

We had another dog when we retired here--she's the little black dog with Kume in one of the pictures above (this was when we were still in Alpine, California, San Diego, County. Chewie....was older...became ill and we sadly lost her since being here. We all miss her dearly! Chewie was our "rescue dog" from San Diego, CA. More about her another time....

Visitors to our property....

Visitors of the furry and feathered variety are welcome to our property. Oh...except cats and squirrels (our dog Kume is NOT found of them).

Both my husband and I were so excited to have this beautiful couple visit and sit awhile in one of our trees on the side of our property. We were so hoping they scouting for property for a nest....I think the Bald Eagle is soooooo majestic and beautiful!
